About
Paul Mahoney writes under the pen name P.M. Mahoney—mainly because another Paul Mahoney got there first (what are the chances?). He is an accomplished author of romantic comedies and mysteries.
Under the pen name Roly Nutkins, he writes middle-grade books for reluctant readers, packed with gross humor, bizarre body swaps, and all the weirdness kids love.
In 2020, Paul received a certificate from the Premier of Queensland for his quick actions in helping to save the life of an elderly woman. In addition to writing books, he is also a screenwriter. His feature film Ruby’s Choice (2022), starring Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman), brought international attention to dementia care and led to his role as a Global Ambassador for the Dementia Foundation’s Spark of Life program.
Paul has had several other feature screenplays optioned and hopes to see more of his stories brought to the screen. His work has earned international recognition, including awards from the Euroscript Awards in London, the Pasadena International Film Festival, and the Faith & Family Script Showcase in Los Angeles.
He lives with his better half, Solange, who does her best to keep him on track—despite his ongoing tendency to wander off in pursuit of shiny distractions. Paul continues to write stories he hopes would have made his late sister, Michelle, laugh.
